Mining Industry Skills Centre Internal Restructure

10 March 2009

The Skills Centre moves forward in times of change

10/03/2009

The Mining Industry Skills Centre has developed and evolved dramatically over the past three years. The number of staff members has increased, the Skills Centre’s scope of work has widened, and status in terms of workforce planning and delivery has strengthened.

In order to maintain the momentum of the Skills Centre’s success, an internal restructure was implemented from the beginning of March to allow the company to continue providing innovative initiatives, products and services for the resources industry.

The Mining Industry Skills Centre’s CEO Mr Derek Hunter believes the restructure is imperative in continuing the organisations objective of assuring the timely development of a sustainable, skilled workforce aligned to the industry’s requirements.

“A restructure is a necessary and major step in the evolution of the Skills Centre to ensure achievement of our organisation’s purpose as well as being a successful, not-for-profit organisation”, Mr Hunter said.

“The change is part of the long-term cultural evolution of the Skills Centre that commenced nearly three years ago and will continue into the future.”

The Skills Centre is pleased to announce the new Senior Management Team that will be working with CEO Derek Hunter in moving the organisation forward.
