What is the Resources Industry Training Fund?

The Resources Industry Training Fund (RITF) was established to assist organisations within the resources industry to fund the delivery of training and development programs to new and existing workers.

The Mining Industry Skills Centre manages the RITF on behalf of the Queensland Department of Education and Training (DET), including the distribution of funds to eligible applicants.

Over the past 12 months alone, the Skills Centre has distributed over $1.8 million to organisations to assist with the cost of delivering training to their workers.

This funding plays an important role in enabling organisations to:

• implement their training and development programs
• increase their ability to attract and retain employees
• contribute to the quality and availability of skills industry wide
• improve their productivity

Eligible applicants are entitled to a reimbursement of up to a maximum of 50% of their RTO direct cost*.

Who is eligible?

The RITF can be accessed by employers of new and existing workers (including contractors) in the Queensland resources industry, and offers financial support to assist in the implementation of training programs that address the organisation's skilling and development requirements.
